Hey all! To whomever and whenever this post finds you, I hope you’re having a great day and it’s full of positive moments and adventure. If not and it’s one of those days or weeks, take some moments for yourself to reflect and continue moving forward.
I’m here with an announcement about my blog. I think it’s an exciting thing and it will help make my content more focused and not all over the place.
When I started this blog, I entered it blindly. I really hadn’t read anything about starting a blog, how to be successful, or the “rules” of blog flow. I just had a thought and went with it. I’ve always wanted to write product reviews because I have tried so many subscription boxes and random products. I also wanted to talk about traveling because it’s something I love doing.
It wasn’t until I started writing and posting that I realized the two didn’t really go together. It didn’t flow well and my Instagram was all over the place when advertising my blog posts. There would be all of these pretty travel photos, promotion of travel content, and then a random post like Care/Of Daily Vitamins UPDATE.
It didn’t work.
After I wrote my last review, Stitch Fix – A Monthly Clothing Subscription Review, I decided that would be it. If I have a product or subscription that is related to travel, I’ll absolutely throw it in!
I’m also not going to delete these posts off of my blog. It’s a part of how I’m growing as a brand and I don’t want to pretend it never happened. It’s a reminder of how I’m learning and evolving. And let’s be real, they take a hell of a lot of time. My content includes, “Travel. Life. +Etc,” so they will live under the +Etc. portion of my blog.
I had been thinking it didn’t flow together for awhile, but I was hoping I could somehow make it work. Now that I’m thinking on it, I can absolutely do travel stories and promotions like, “How I Use Stitch Fix to Complement my Travel Wardrobe.” Absolutely, and who knows – it might make it in!
But for now, I’m done with that piece. Isn’t it fun (and stressful) watching your blog/brand grow and evolve? I haven’t been in this for even 3 months and I’ve made so many changes. Part of that might be because I didn’t have a solid plan going in, but it’s also happening as I’m learning.
And it’s exciting watching it develop. It’s like a child that I’m raising and helping mature. Not that I have a child to compare it to, but I’d like to think it’s similar (and a lot less messy).
So, there’s my month 3 announcement!

I’m still in the middle of figuring out what to do with my blog, for now i’m just doing whatever I feel like and not worrying about views.

Absolutely! You will figure out what works for you just by “doing!” Don’t do it just because it gets a ton of views, make sure you love doing it, too!

Just starting out seems to be the best time to chop and change things on your blog, and it’s kinda inevitable since nobody knows what they’re doing to start with. Excited to see how you go with more travel-based posts.

Your blog looks great! I started my blog back in May, and I had the same thoughts about my consistency on Instagram about a month ago. I’m slowly trying to introduce a “theme” while also keeping the authentic feel–wish me luck!

Thank you! It’s such a process and it just never feels “right,” ya know? We’ll get there eventually, I presume! Good luck! 😊
